INTRODUCING: Roots!
Roots! Is a newsletter for women who are getting healthy using a plant-based lifestyle.
Roots is a new newsletter (from me, Lori Osterberg) where I’ll be putting new posts up every week. I’d love for you to join in!
In case you’re not familiar with my writing, I’ve added a few posts from my long-running blog over on GorgeousWellth.
I’m starting a new newsletter where I’ll be putting new posts up every week. I’d love for you to join in!
It’s time for a new approach.
I knew that I sat listening to her words.
“I really do want to eat differently. I know I’m not as healthy as I should be. But where do I find the time and energy? I have a full life … and I’m supposed to relearn all of this? I make good choices, but why does it have to be so difficult?”
And I get it.
I’ve been moving down this plant-powered road for three decades now, and it’s still a daily challenge.
Because life doesn’t make good choices easy. In fact, there are more incentives to stay with the stuff that hurts you than to make life changes that will truly impact your health.
But I believe we’re there.
Because I’ve watched people die from heart disease and cancers. Family and close friends - devastating losses that were far too early.
Every time I talk about this stuff, I have people listening, asking questions, and trying to find ways to implement it into their own lives.
What better way to continue to share than with this new community?
I’m starting from the ground up to see what I can do with it.
Roots! is a newsletter for women who are getting healthy using a plant-based lifestyle.
Here are the facts: 10 percent of U.S. adults identify as vegan or vegetarian. From 2004 to 2019, the number of vegans in the US increased 30 fold.
As we learn more about what fuels our body and how our environment impacts our health, we’re turning plant-based out of a desire to live better, longer. Finding ways to increase healthspan, not just lifespan.
Every week, I’ll be sharing new content on plant-power lifestyle concepts, joyful kitchen strategies, and proaging ideas I think you’ll relate to.
I’ll write about my own plant-based journey - it’s what I know and I have a lot to share.
I’ll dig into stories because that’s where the true learning begins. And do I have stories! It’s been a wild ride since my dad died three decades ago.
Of course, this is about food. So we gotta talk about it! I’ll be sharing a lot about food: how to select it, how to cook it, how to keep it delicious and exciting!
My goal is to serve a new community who knows it’s time for an upgraded wellth (health+wellness) approach and is ready to learn more about it.
Ultimately, I want it to be helpful.
I hope many will find useful tidbits along the way. But I’m specifically writing for:
➡️Busy women who have reached a point where they want to have to start paying attention to food, health, and wellness.
➡️People who have dabbled in plant-based living and are curious about what it can bring to their lives.
➡️People who want to bring more joy (and more plants) into their kitchens. No matter what your current feelings are on cooking, I’ll be giving you plant-powered tips that will help you fall in love with your kitchen!
➡️Plant-based eaters who want more ideas to truly make plant-based stick!
If that’s you, or you’re just curious, I welcome you along for the ride!
